Timeline of the voyage:

The Climate Justice Flotilla will be leaving Guadeloupe on the 3rd of April for Sint Marteen, where we will meet up with Tommie’s boat, Eleanor.  From there, we will leave on the 7th of April from to arrive in Bonaire (where we will meet the activists who with the help of Greenpeace, won a landmark case against the Dutch government) around the 10th of April.
From Bonaire, we will sail to Curaçao, where we will hold actions and talks with local activists on the 14th of April, then to Aruba where we will stay between the 16th and the 18th of April, before leaving for Santa Marta, where we hope to arrive around the 21st of April, in good time for the Fossil Fuel Treaty conference.

Update on the boats:

So far, we have secured the use two boats for the flotilla.

Apsara is an 11m aluminium offshore cruiser currently sailing in the Caribbean after her fifth Atlantic crossing. She is a strong boat, very well maintained and fully equipped for short-handed offshore sailing. Her owner / skipper, a retired professional skipper with many offshore passages to his name, is a long time climate activist, and the proud father of one of the founding members of Friday for Future Ireland.

Tommie’s boat Eleanor (pictured on the right) is a 34 foot Van de Stadt designed steel offshore cruiser, currently based in Antigua after a transatlantic crossing from South Africa. In addition to her skipper, she will carry three activists from Saint Maarten to Santa Marta.
